Current KidSportTM Fundraisers
Since 2006 Funtastic Sports Society has been an invaluable contributor to Greater Vernon KidSport. Funtastic and Labatt's combined donations were made possible by donating all the funds from the home run competion, hardest throw competition and dunk tank operated by Vernon Funtastic. Funtastic takes pride in having all the funds generated at the event returned to the community for the enhancement of sport in the North Okanagan.
Funtastic has contributed more than $1,100,000 to the community in its 25 year history. These dollars have helped pay for numerous amenities in our community including the defibulators in the 3 local arenas, 13 sports fields in and around Vernon, 5 playgrounds, home run netting and upgrades to Riverside Park in Enderby, funds for the new Armstrong arena and spray park, Scholarship endowments for both Lumby and Vernon students, plus numerous other donations. Greater Vernon KidSport greatly appreciates the continued support from Funtastic Sports Society and its continuing contributions that help provide funding for grants.
Private and Corporate Donations The greater Vernon KidSport Fund is looking for sponsors and supporters willing to make donations of gifts, services and of course financial contributions. Donations of Gifts and services will be auctioned off during various fundraising events, with the proceeds being returned to the Greater Vernon KidSport Fund. All proceeds will go directly into grants for the children. In order to show our appreciation of the support by individuals, local businesses and service clubs, we have established Bronze, Silver and Gold levels of support recognition. Bronze level recognizes donations of $175 - $349, Silver $350 - $499, and Gold $500 and over. Supporters will be recognized on the Greater Vernon KidSport Website (click here to view sponsors), and will receive a commemorative plaque that can be proudly displayed at your place of business. If you feel that you or your organization would like to be involved with this worthwhile program, or if you have any questions concerning Greater Vernon KidSport please feel free to contact the Greater Vernon KidSport Fund at any time. “Choose Your Seat” is the adopted theme for Greater Vernon KidSport’s annual fundraiser. In conjunction with the Vernon and District Multi-Use Facility, we are going to have a “seat sale”. No we are not providing special prices on airline flights; our plan is to sell all 3000 seats in the Multi-Plex! To our knowledge, this is the largest single fundraising endeavor for KidSport in BC. To date “Choose Your Seat” has raised $7000.00 for our local fund, but we have a long way to go. Each seat will sell for $175 each, $100 going to our local Greater Vernon KidSport Fund and $75 to support future Multi-Plex capital projects. Each seat purchaser receives a tax receipt for the full amount as well as having their name of choice engraved on a colourful plate attached to the seat back recognizing their contribution. All funds raised will remain within our community and are distributed on an application need basis to our local disadvantaged youth. The legacy we are hoping to create is that no youth in our area are left out of sport due to financial and/or social obstacles.
