KidSportTM Facts The money raised through the KidSport Fund benefits children by helping to remove the financial obstacles that prevent some children from participating in sport. The KidSport Fund is administered by Sport BC. A Childs participation in sport encourages self-esteem, teamwork, dedication and personal excellence. More than 7,000 British Columbia children, between the ages of 6 and 18, have had a chance to participate in sport because of support from the KidSport Fund. All of the money raised through the generous support of sponsors goes to support the children. The KidSport Fund was originally conceived in British Columbia and there is now a KidSport Fund in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick, PEI, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Newfoundland. Special thanks must go to the corporate community, as well as the sport and recreation community, for their continued support of the KidSport Fund. Organizations province-wide are conducted fundraising programs throughout the year and they are choosing the KidSport Fund as their charity of choice. |
